The laser is designed to cut a broad range of tubes and profiles with flexibility and speed, including material with thicker walls. When cutting 0.5-in.-thick mild steel, for example, productivity increases by up to 30 percent and feed rates increase by up to 150 percent. An extended outer circle diameter enables the TruLaser to process square tubes measuring 8 in. by 8 in., round tubes with diameters up to 10.75 in. and rectangular tubes measuring up to 10 in. by 6 in. The new Quality Pilot feature automatically evaluates incoming raw material quality and determines if (and how many times) the material should be measured. If necessary, ScanLine uses light sensors to measure and compensate for deviations in material shape or position.
