The Workforce Pell Grant program expanded Pell Grant eligibility to students in high-quality, short-term workforce training programs β marking a shift in federal support for nontraditional career pathways. Aiming to address the skilled labor shortage, which stems from a disconnect among employers, education providers and funding sources, the grant helps expand access to education and training, reduce
unnecessary student debt, accelerate job readiness and create a workforce infrastructure capable of meeting todayβs demand. βEmployers need skilled workers now and individuals need accessible pathways into stable, high-paying careers,β said Bill Nance, CEO, StrataTech Education Group. βWhile funding exists to support workforce development, it is often fragmented, difficult to navigate and disconnected from the actual workforce demand.β
