Synova SA was presented the William M. Steen Award from the Laser Institute of America, named after one of the early pioneers in the subject. Synova was nominated by a nationally recognized aerospace manufacturer for development of its Laser MicroJet technology and was selected out of almost 50 applications for significant developments in laser material processing. The award is given to the top three ideas of the year as adjudicated by a panel of experts in the field. The recipient must demonstrate proof of concept in the use of lasers or monitoring of laser processes.
