PushCorp announced the STC0440-BT40, a robotic servo spindle for automated machining, deflashing and gate removal in foundry and casting operations. The spindle features a 40-hp (30-kW) liquid-cooled servo motor with adjustable and reversible speeds up to 4,000 rpm and ±5 percent speed regulation. It supports high radial and axial loads with a quad-bearing front and duplex-bearing rear setup, ensuring rigid tool positioning. The spindle accepts standard BT40 tapered toolholders compatible with various cutting tools to integrate with PushCorp’s force-compliance devices for controlled contact force and consistent surface finishes.
