NEW SUBMERGED ARC ELECTRODE RESISTS CORROSION
Select-Arc Inc. introduces SelectWear 410NiMo-S hard surfacing martensitic stainless steel wire. The wire is a tubular submerged arc welding electrode that produces a tough, abrasion-resistant deposit that has good corrosion and thermal fatigue resistance. Available in 3/32-in., 7/64-in. and 1/8-in. diameters, SelectWear 410NiMo-S is utilized in such critical hardsurfacing applications as pinch rolls, caster rolls and idler rolls.
POWER SOURCE OFFERS ONLINE INTEGRATION
The new Aristo Mig 5000iR robotic welding power source from ESAB Welding & Cutting Products features improved arc starts to minimize or eliminate spatter and promote good fusion. It also features enhanced arc stability to reduce spatter while welding and improved crater-fill function at weld stop for defect-free automated welds. A built-in robotic interface module and web server allow remote access with a range of external devices, including robotic controllers. The Aristo power source integrates with ESAB’s WeldCloud online data management platform.
DOCUMENTATION AND DATA ANALYSIS SYSTEM
Fronius International GmbH has developed the WeldCube documentation and data analysis system. The system connects up to 50 power sources and is based on an industry PC with integrated software. The system allows the user to document and evaluate data, including current, voltage, wire speed, welding speed and time, arc and dynamic correction and job numbers, during manual and robot-aided welding processes. This data is visualized in order to achieve an accurate analysis, then output via a web browser.
WELDING WORKCELL FOR JOB SHOPS
The ArcWorld C-30 workcell from Yaskawa Motoman is for welding small to mediumsize parts typically found in job shops. It features one station with a welding table suitable for customized part fixtures in a compact footprint. The workcell offers a 6-axis MA1440 arc welding robot, DX200 controller with menu-driven arc welding application software, integrated welding package, operator station and pneumatic powered slide-up doors. The slide-up doors are interlocked with robot operation to safeguard the operator during part load/unload.
NEW TIER 4 FINAL WELDER/GENERATOR FOR HIGH-OUTPUT WELDING
Miller Electric Mfg. Co.’s Big Blue 600 Pro welder/generator replaces the Tier 4 Interim Big Blue 500 with a more powerful EPA Tier 4 Final–compliant engine. Designed for the U.S. market, this new 600-amp machine is for jobs that require high output for welding, gouging and auxiliary power. Rated at 48.9 hp, the machine is for heavy industrial applications including construction, structural steel, mining maintenance, pipe welding, and maintenance and repair rigs. All models include a 4-in. electronic engine display.
COMPACT TIG WELDING SYSTEM
CK Worldwide Inc. offers the MT200-AC/DC TIG welding system. Its interface allows for quick setting adjustments, and it has a compact, portable design. Featuring two dynamic modes for GTAW and SMAW, the system can be used on aluminum, titanium, magnesium, and low-alloy and stainless steel. The system comprises the welding machine, a CK-17 flex-head torch with Super-Flex cable and Dinse connector, AK-3 accessory kit, foot pedal amperage control, ground clamp with 12.5-ft. cable, single-flow regulator, and a 220-V to 115-V power adapter.
PREDICTIVE CONTROL SYSTEM FOR AIR QUALITY
RoboVent offers eTell, a predictive control system for air quality equipment. The cloud-based air quality control program uses advanced analytics to “learn” the plant’s processes and trends and make automated adjustments to improve system performance. Facility managers can monitor energy use, maintenance requirements and system usage on the mobile app and dashboard. The control system can be installed on new equipment or retrofit onto existing products, including RoboVent’s systems, collectors and other industrial air-quality equipment.
ANGLE LOCK TORCH ADJUSTER
Broco Rankin’s new angle lock torch adjuster is included with Broco Rankin multi-process welding kits for the Rankin Automation two-axis automated welding machine. The new torch adjuster allows for easy adjustment of the welding torch angle. It mounts to the machine with an adapter secured to the outlet side of the wire feeder on the two-axis machine. The adapter allows the adjuster to be turned as much as 180˚. It also can be changed to vertical to 45˚ for fillet welding.
VIRTUAL TRAINING SYSTEM FOR WELDING STUDENTS
The Lincoln Electric Co.’s new VRTEX Engage weld training system uses virtual reality arc welding training to help educators train welders. The system addresses introductory welding curriculum, including safety, machine and process selection, welding procedure setup and welding theory. It simulates short-arc, spray and pulse welding. The system includes a touchscreen monitor, virtual reality welding gun, tracking device and work surface. Students can view a demo of each weld, perform the weld and replay their own weld with the instructor.
FILLER METALS FOR HIGH-STRENGTH ALUMINUM WELDS
Hobart Brothers Co. introduce MaxalMig 4943 wire and MaxalTig 4943 cut lengths, which are aluminum filler metals registered by the Aluminum Association and classified by the AWS for wrought commercial applications. The filler metals provide for higher strength aluminum welding and also offer the advantages of using a 4043 aluminum filler metal, including corrosion resistance, ease of welding and low hot-cracking sensitivity. The products provide the ability to reduce weld size while still improving weld strength, and are also suitable for elevated temperature applications.
