The Missouri University of Science and Technology (S&T) recently opened the Missouri Protoplex, a 117,000-sq.-ft. advanced manufacturing facility in Rolla, Mo., marking a milestone for university-based manufacturing research and workforce development. “With the opening of the
Missouri Protoplex, Missouri S&T is redefining what is possible for a university to accomplish with advanced manufacturing,” said Mo Dehghani, chancellor, Missouri S&T. The facility includes 40,000 sq. ft. of high-bay manufacturing space and more than 60 industrial-scale pieces of equipment and supports work in additive manufacturing, advanced metallurgy, aerospace manufacturing and materials for extreme environments.
