Machine rental from Chicago-based startup

McPond Inc., a peer-to-peer platform based in Chicago, is where manufacturers can list idle industrial machines available for rent. By collaboratively consuming manufacturing assets, overseas outsourcing can be avoided and manufacturing can stimulate local economic growth. McPond currently lists machines in states as far away as Ohio, Maryland, Florida and Colorado. Machines vary from 3-D printers to CNC machines to jig mills to burn ovens. Lenders get more value out of their assets and generate passive income, while renters have immediate access to machines and the ability for larger workloads.
