Laser Research Optics introduced a line of ZnSe CO2 focusing lenses designed for cutting heavy steel fabrications including diamond plate and I-beams. Compatible with CO2 lasers from 200 W to 4 kW, the lenses are available in 1-in. to 2.5-in. outside diameter sizes with a choice of focal lengths from 5 in. to 10 in. in 0.5-in. increments. Available in plano-convex and meniscus configurations, the lenses can
be supplied plain or mounted for direct field replacement. Coatings include a standard anti-reflective coating with less than 0.2 percent total absorption or Cool-Cut coating that absorbs less than 0.15 percent of laser energy to guard against heat damage.
