Laser Research Optics released a line of ZnSe laser focusing lenses for steel cutting lasers up to 4 kW. The CO2 focusing lenses are suited for 10.6-micron, 200-W to 400-kW lasers used for cutting heavy steel parts and come in 1-in. to 2.5-in. OD sizes with focal lengths from 5 in. to 10 in., in 0.5-in. increments to match specific steel cutting requirements. Offered in plano-convex and plano-meniscus configurations, the lenses can be supplied plain and mounted. They are designed for OEMs that manufacture lasers used for cutting large steel fabrications or for field replacement by end users.
