The Hobart Institute of Welding Technology (HIWT) promoted Charles “Charlie” Carpenter from vice president and general manager to president and CEO. This appointment recognizes Carpenter’s impactful leadership since joining HIWT in 2009. In his most recent position, he played a pivotal role in expanding HIWT’s global footprint by successfully completing international agreements that established the institute’s welding training programs and curriculum worldwide. Carpenter brings a strong blend of academic, technical and operational expertise to his new role and he holds multiple professional certifications. He will lead the institute in its mission to develop highly skilled welding professionals worldwide.
