Graham Stamping Co. installed a second Aida servo press at its Hermitage, Pa., facility, a 400-metricton unitized frame machine featuring a 2.6-m-by-1.2-m bed and a maximum speed of 50 strokes per min. The press is run primarily in pendulum motion to achieve higher parts-per-minute output. The investment has directly resulted in two new automotive part orders with annual volumes of 2 million parts each, nearly filling the new press’s capacity. The increased servo press production has also reduced reliance on some of the company’s existing mechanical presses.
