Chelar Tool & Die expanded its production capabilities with the installation of a 630-metricton Aida straight-side mechanical press at its Belleville, Ill., facility. The company added a 15,000-sq.-ft. building specifically to house the new press, which it primarily uses for die development and tryout and secondarily to stamp parts. The MCX-6300(2) progressive die press features a 4,250-mm-by-1,500-mm bed and 850-mm die height. The added capacity and advanced technology allow Chelar to build more technologically advanced dies incorporating complex die automation. Chelar primarily serves the appliance, HVAC and electrical industries.
