The Dimeco Linacut coil-fed solution is designed as an efficient method for processing parts traditionally cut from sheet material on a flat bed machine. The Linacut concept combines the unmatched flexibility of laser cutting with the performance of Dimeco coil-fed processes. Continuous, coil-fed processing equates to lower downtimes and higher material utilization.
The patented cutting process allows for unmanned production of nested parts with simultaneous part stacking and scrap ejection. The Linacut is outfitted with a camera for real-time monitoring, and it can also be equipped with extra units for marking or embossing. Barcodes or part numbers can be added with an extra inkjet printer.
As with all Dimeco equipment, the Linacut is a turnkey system and can be customized to match customers’ specific material requirements.
Dimeco Linacut Advantages:
- Handles coils up to 25 tons (55,000 lbs.) with thicknesses up to 4 mm (8 gauge) and widths up to 2,000 mm (80 in.)
- As a continuous process, the Linacut processes parts faster than a standard flat bed laser cutter. As an example, one coil of 1-mm-thick (19-gauge) material, which measures about 2,000 m (6,500 ft.), can be processed non-stop and with a very limited scrap level.
- Part length has no other limit than the available space in a shop.
- Thanks to the coil-fed nature of the equipment, customers can experience up to 70 percent less scrap.
- Laser output power is available between 2 kW and 6 kW and features a Precitec cutting head as well as an IPG laser resonator.
