With nearly a decade of articles, FAB Shop Magazine Direct is constantly growing in its efforts to help sheet-metal fabricators with editorial that pointedly serves the industry, because it’s all about serving our readers’ needs.
Our magazine has unique editorial. We offer articles on laser maintenance, employee training, equipment set up and what’s new in equipment and processes, to name just a few. This is editorial written by reporters and veterans in the industry. They know what our readers are up against in making a company productive and profitable. Alan Berg has spent his entire career – more than 35 years – in B2B publishing with 20 years focused on the manufacturing sector. Alan and his wife have two daughters and a chihuahua named Shakira. In Alan’s spare time he likes to exercise and sample new craft beers both domestic and imported.
A graduate of Columbia College’s journalism program in Chicago, Abbe has been writing about the metals industry for several years in several capacities. Currently, she is the editor-in-chief of three of Techgen’s publications: Shop Floor Lasers, Welding Productivity and FAB Shop Magazine Direct. In her free time, she enjoys cooking restaurant-quality food at home as well as gardening in her backyard.
Susan Woods is managing editor for Welding Productivity, Shop Floor Lasers, and FAB Shop Magazine Direct. She has more than 15 years’ experience writing for the metalworking industry. In addition to metal fabrication, she has covered machine tools extensively. Susan is a graduate from Western Illinois University. She lives in the Chicagoland area with her husband and two children, who keep her pretty busy in her free time. She also enjoys reading, gardening and rooting for Chicago’s numerous sports teams.
Jimmy Myers spent 12 years of his writing career in newspaper journalism, covering state government and higher education. When he launched his freelance career in 2013, he quickly amassed clients in a broad range of industries with a focus on digital publishing. Building up copy for their websites, he produced blogs, news releases, white papers and case studies – all intended to enhance his clients’ industry authority and improve their online presence. Justin Stivers, born and raised in various small towns in Washington state, graduated from Shoreline College with a degree in Science and Business. For the better part of a decade, Justin has been pursuing SEO and social media marketing and has been fronting email marketing campaigns in New York and New Jersey. When Justin isn’t doing something computer or web oriented, he tends to like music (both playing and attending shows) and video games (Super Nintendo is still his fave).
